Controls Engineer
Job Description
In response to increased concurrent projects for the design and delivery of our datacenters, Oracle is recruiting a Controls Engineer. The role is a multi-disciplinary datacenter design engineer with a controls engineering background, charged with the direct interface between Oracle and our datacenter partners in the BMS, EPMS, SCADA and DCIM functions. With experience in designing and delivering mission critical facilities and professional qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering with a controls focus the role is responsible for all controls decisions related to assigned datacenter projects: site selection, new construction, phased expansion, retrofits and upgrades and acquisition conversions.

Manages a project or other design and engineering initiatives. Provides guidance and engineering leadership in ensuring project or other design and engineering initiatives are meeting or exceeding company expectations
Strong operating knowledge of engineering systems to include advanced diagnostics and repairs. Ability to apply knowledge of Oracle processes and procedures and industry standards to resolve non-routine issues. Utilizes safe working practices at a senior level (e.g. can apply procedure for lockout/tag out, can explain MSDS, etc.). Evaluates and assures the safe working practices of others. Interacts with other engineering disciplines. Works with the colocation providers engineering teams to ensure mechanical systems are adequately designed, specified and installed to deliver robust operation for Oracle.
Contributes to identifying and developing training programs for newer members of the team as it grows. Acquires knowledge by expanding experience with systems, vendor training, participation in industry groups or meetings and shadowing others. Is SME with many systems and trains others inside and outside of the group
Provides input for effective contract administration including generation and review of contracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents and documentation.
Expert level communication to include cross functional SOP development and relevant technical writing. Interactions are primarily to exchange information between departments within the organization.
Troubleshoot and perform Root Cause Analysis or Corrective Action for BMS/EPMS/SCADA/DCIM related issues in Oracle data centers.
Provide technical assistance and support to operations during life cycle of the data center.
Review BMS/EPMS/SCADA/DCIM project scope of work and code to assure Oracle of reliable operations and secondarily optimized operations in building MEP systems
Drive the basis of design for BMS/EPMS/SCADA/DCIM control for datacenters leased or procured for Oracles exclusive use.
Assist in procurement related activities including request for quotation/proposals, responding to request for information, review of vendors proposal and issuance of purchase orders.
Is a controls SME to provide BMS/EPMS/SCADA/DCIM technical support to in-service data centers for complex problems involving the controls schema
Attend project related meetings, coordinate with project leaders and regularly report status to Controls and stakeholders management.
Support Controls projects related commissioning activities in the data centers.
Review, implement, troubleshoot and iterate on the controls sequence of operation (SOO) and provide necessary feedback to internal and external design partners.
Develop and modify controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces as needed if Oracle is leading the controls definition and function

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $97,500 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
