NDE Level II Technician
As an NDE Level II Technician, you will conduct non-destructive examinations according to written procedures and then interpret the results of the examinations, following applicable standards and specifications. You will have a development opportunity to act in a project supervisor role at a dedicated customer during outages; this includes overseeing daily functions at site to complete exams and report status back to the customer. While in this role it’s expected that you will work towards obtaining NDE Level III certification in multiple disciplines.
You will report to the Manager of NDE Programs and be located at our Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA. This position does require travel during fall and spring outages.
Key Responsibilities:
Investigate and interpret different industry standards, codes, and procedures to support customer and regulatory requirements throughout the nuclear and non-nuclear sectors.
Develop new techniques and inspection procedures as well as review existing techniques to refine processes to support the nuclear and non-nuclear industries.
Lead teams and provide mentoring opportunities for Trainees, Level Is, and IIs to strength the NDE personnel in the company; for less experienced personnel willingness to be mentored and develop professionally.
Support the preparation for field projects with procedures and examination plans for the NDE scope.
Participate in performance-based training programs to acquire and maintain certifications and keep current with technology.
Participate in safety training to acquire the skills to perform work in hazardous environments and operate safety equipment and systems.
Operate, maintain and troubleshoot field service equipment at customer sites, including non-destructive examination (NDE) technology, automated systems and computer networks.
Perform all assigned tasks with a high degree of quality, and within the parameters of qualified procedures and guidelines. Maintain and document all quality related issues.
Promote and exercise team-building skills with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers and other departments.
Demonstrate good customer sensitivity.
You will be asked to travel, maintain “Unescorted Access” status at Nuclear Power Plants, and will working with hazardous materials.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience performing non-destructive inspections of nuclear and/or non-nuclear power plants or related fields to satisfy industry recognized requirements
Capability to certify to an employer based written practice that satisfies ASNT CP-189, and ASME Section XI. You will be multidisciplined (UT, VT-1,2,3, MT, PT, ET)
Working Knowledge of ASME Code
Ability to travel during the spring and fall with multiple projects assignments of 1-3 week duration and periodically during off peak seasons.
