Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for leading and optimizing the company's procurement and supply chain operations to ensure strategic, efficient, and cost-effective sourcing of materials and supplies. This role serves as a key business partner across departments, providing expertise in vendor management, contract negotiation, inventory strategy, and process improvement to support organizational objectives and operational excellence.
Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end procurement activities, including sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management to achieve optimal pricing, quality, and delivery performance.

Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to support business goals, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.

Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships; evaluate supplier performance using key metrics and implement corrective actions where needed.

Oversee purchasing operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely fulfillment of material and service requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and align procurement strategies with production and operational needs.

Analyze market trends, cost drivers, and supply chain risks to inform procurement decisions and ensure business continuity.

Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, including system enhancements, automation, and process optimization within the procurement function.

Guide team members, promoting best practices and professional growth within the department.
Essential Skills
-
5+ years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain operations.

Proven track record in vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost reduction strategies.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP or procurement systems.

Experience in the Printing, Communications, or Packaging industry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Certification in CPSM or CSCP preferred but not required.
Work Environment
This role is based in a smaller printing manufacturing facility, where the individual will need to move throughout the facility, including offices and the production floor. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided if needed. The position operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with flexible hours. The dress code is business casual with closed-toe shoes required.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
