Job Title: Director of School Facilities and Grounds
Location: Central PA Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)

Your Role as a Director of School Facilities and Grounds:
Oversee Facilities & Grounds Operations – Manage daily maintenance and repair activities across school buildings and grounds. Ensure timely completion of work orders and preventive maintenance tasks, and conduct regular inspections to identify and address facility needs.
Maintain a Clean, Safe, and Presentable Environment – Supervise custodial and groundskeeping staff to ensure cleanliness, safety, and curb appeal across all school sites. Support the operation of building safety systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and security.
Provide Hands-On Team Leadership & Training – Support and supervise maintenance and custodial staff through scheduling, training, and performance monitoring. Provide hands-on instruction in general carpentry, light electrical, plumbing, and repairs, with an emphasis on drywall and painting.
Manage Vendors & Monitor Budgets – Coordinate with vendors and contractors for facility repairs, services, and small projects. Approve purchases of tools and supplies, monitor budgets, and manage inventory to ensure proper storage and usage.
Coordinate Capital Projects & Improvements – Collaborate with leadership to identify and prioritize capital needs. Assist with planning project scopes, budgets, and timelines, and coordinate with contractors for successful project execution.
Ensure Compliance & Emergency Response Preparedness – Enforce safety regulations and building codes, respond to after-hours facility emergencies, and participate in inspections and documentation for compliance. Follow EOP and ECP procedures and use appropriate PPE as required.
Complete Administrative & Operational Duties – Approve employee timesheets, maintain detailed records of maintenance and inspections, oversee the work order system, and track trends to inform resource planning. Travel regularly to school sites to monitor conditions and provide support.
Support School Operations with Professionalism & Integrity – Communicate openly with staff to maintain efficient operations and address concerns. Maintain student confidentiality in line with FERPA and company policy.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management or related field, highly preferred.
Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in facilities and grounds maintenance
Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience
