Caregiver Needed in Lancaster, PA - Support a Kind, Hard-Working Young Man

Location: Lancaster, PA

Pay Rate: $19/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

A loving family in Lancaster is seeking a patient, dependable caregiver to support their adult son, a gentle young man with Moderate Intellectual Disability and a Traumatic Brain Injury. He is ambulatory but experiences weakness in both his upper and lower extremities and needs steady, compassionate assistance throughout the day.

This role is ideal for someone who truly cares about helping others live meaningful, safe, and engaged lives.

About Him

He is a warm, curious individual who thrives with structure, encouragement, and calm support. He enjoys:

• Walking in his local park

• Collecting rocks and leaves

• Volunteering at a middle school, where he proudly helps place chairs on tables

He is responsive to his behavior plan (outlined in his ISP), and the family will provide guidance on the specific approach that works best for him.

What He Needs Help With

• Assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)

• Support with eating, ensuring he stays focused and eats well

• Safe supervision due to:

• A shunt

• Seizure history

• Vagus Nerve Stimulator

• Nasal rescue medication

• Gentle redirection and behavioral support following the guardian's preferred methods

Who We're Looking For

A caregiver who is:

• Patient, calm, and willing to learn

• Experienced with seizures and behavioral support

• Comfortable assisting with mobility and ADLs

• Open to following a non-traditional behavior plan as outlined in the ISP

• Respectful of the mother's guidance and committed to supporting her son's safety

Signing Bonus Details

• $333 after 90 days (minimum 20 hours/week)

• $333 after 6 months (minimum 20 hours/week)

• $334 after 1 year (minimum 20 hours/week)

Note: Bonus not available for Residential Services or Relative as Provider (RAP) hires. Applicants must not have worked for Abound Health or its affiliates within the past 18 months.
