Under direction of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Assistant contributes to the patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of the patient. Actual job tasks may vary depending on the unit or department assigned. 5 North is a dynamic, fast?paced unit at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center, providing exceptional quality care for patients undergoing orthopedic and spinal surgery. Our team?oriented environment fosters strong collaboration among all care providers, including RNs, PCAs, Physical Therapists, Surgeons, Physicians, and Case Management. While the unit specializes in orthopedic and spinal surgical patients, it also cares for a diverse range of medical?surgical patients. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
  • High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent required
  • BLS required prior to orientation completion
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting
