Assistant Fleet Manager
- Lead dispatch staff in all aspects of their job to include scheduling, training, and performance management
- Support daily operations and make critical decisions to ensure safe/legal execution
- Liaison with operations leadership for the purpose of learning, understanding, developing, and executing on driver and operational needs
- Assist management team in developing and providing dispatcher and driver communication, mentoring and situation resolution
- Responsible for operational system support to ensure accurate data flow and successful delivery execution
- Assist with phone coverage to include driver, customer, and route planning team support as needed
- Lead and support dispatch and departmental continuous improvement projects
- Backup for Dispatch and Administrative staff as needed, to include all shifts and holidays
- Develop customer service solutions and processes for deliveries
- Assist with department metrics reporting
- Assist with department projects and perform a variety of administrative tasks in support transportation operations
What you bring
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Associates Degree or Bachelor Degree in Business or related field preferred
- Significant knowledge of Northeast and Mid-Atlantic area preferred
- Training/Mentoring experience with CDL drivers and administrative associates
- Working knowledge and ability to continue education on federal, state, and local regulations related to transportation industry (DOT/FMCSA)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Highly proficient in MS Office
- Transportation Management System and ELD knowledge (Trimble/TMW and Samsara preferred)
- Ability to prioritize shifting tasks while providing excellent
