Construction Estimator
Job Description

Our client specializes in high-quality commercial carpentry projects, working with clients across various industries to create spaces that are functional, innovative, and structurally sound. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a skilled Estimator to join our dynamic team. If you are passionate about carpentry, have an eye for detail, and are driven to deliver top-tier estimates and solutions, we want to hear from you!
Job Overview:
The Estimator will play a key role in the pre-construction phase of projects, collaborating closely with the VP of Sales to prepare competitive and accurate bids. Strong communication and attention to detail will be essential in this role, as the Estimator will need to work seamlessly with the VP of sales to secure projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of carpentry methods, materials, and industry standards, along with strong skills in blueprint reading, cost analysis, and client communication.
Key Responsibilities:

· Bid Management: Prepare and submit detailed bids to clients, ensuring alignment with project scope, timelines, and budgets.
· Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to discuss project requirements, pricing strategies, and scope adjustments.
· Vendor Liaison: Source and communicate with suppliers to gather pricing and material options, ensuring competitiveness and quality.
· Site Visits: Conduct site visits when necessary to assess project conditions and take measurements for more accurate estimates.
· Cost Control: Monitor project budgets and provide cost-saving solutions when applicable without compromising on quality.
· Risk Management: Identify potential risks and communicate them to the project management team to prevent cost overruns.
· Documentation & Reporting: Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and project modifications for internal and client review.
Qualifications:
· Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience of estimating, preferably with a focus on commercial construction.
· Education: Degree or certification in construction management, estimating, or a related field (preferred but not required).
· Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), and an understanding of blueprint reading and construction drawings.
· Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial carpentry techniques, materials, and industry standards.
· Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and team members.
· Attention to Detail: Ability to manage complex data and identify discrepancies or errors in drawings and estimates.
· Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying challenges and finding effective solutions.
Benefits:
· Competitive salary, based on experience
· Health, dental, and vision insurance
· Paid time off (PTO) and holidays
· Collaborative and supportive work environment
