Admissions Recruitment and Enrollment Counselor

Position Summary:

The Admissions Recruitment and Enrollment Counselor reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions. It is a full-time, exempt, 12-month administrative position performed on-site at Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School, located at 1717 W. Allegheny Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19132.

Key Responsibilities:

The Admissions Recruitment and Enrollment Counselor will assist the Assistant Director of Admissions through all phases of the admissions and recruitment process and will provide presentations and assist families through the application process. All guided in accordance to the Cristo Rey Network 10 Mission Effectiveness Standards. In particular, Standards 2 & 5: Service to Low-Income Families & Community & Family Engagement.

  • Assists in creating programs and activities to retain students.
  • Prepare documentation and information packets for prospective students.
  • Disseminate flyers to businesses, churches in the Philadelphia area for recruitment purposes.
  • Coordinate and facilitate information sessions, open houses, neighborhood and high school fairs to recruit students.
  • Coordinate events for admissions office
  • Facilitates presentations to prospective students and families in the Philadelphia and Camden area for recruitment purposes.
  • Provide Interview presentations for students in middle schools in Camden, NJ and Philadelphia.
  • Liaison between community organizations, feeder schools and Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School.
  • Counsel and direct students and families to the appropriate sources for guidance on scholarships, or other information.
  • Assist prospective student/families with application
  • Contact parents to assure the application has correct information and family meets requirements.
  • Collect and process documentation for prospective student applications.
  • Ensures that application information is entered into Salesforce.
  • Provide verification to parents for documents received.
  • Schedule Interviews for families
  • Interview prospective students and families.
  • Inform families of acceptance, denials, or waitlist
  • Register students who have been accepted
  • Collect and disseminate registration documents to proper departments of the school.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Fluent in Spanish-speaking, translating documents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge about the school, its faculty, and its student population.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, FinalSite or similar software.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred, preferably from the university.
  • Two years of related work experience is preferred.

Through this unique model, all students earn half the cost of their education by working one day a week through the Work-Study Program.
