Building Paraprofessional

We are looking for a qualified paraprofessional to work daily assignments in the Carlynton School District. This candidate must have a high school diploma and be willing to float between all schools in the district as needed, with the home school being Crafton. This role guarantees 5 days a week work and a rate of pay of $85 per day, paid by Substitute Teacher Service Inc.

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Building Paraprofessional to join our team. In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers and assist in creating a nurturing environment for students with diverse needs. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster positive learning experiences for children across various educational settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and support students with disabilities, including those with autism and developmental disabilities
• Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, organized, and engaging environment for children of different age groups, including preschoolers and toddlers
• Collaborate with teachers to develop and execute lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and early childhood education
• Use effective communication skills to interact with students, staff, and families, including proficiency in American Sign Language when applicable
• Support behavior management strategies to promote positive social interactions and emotional well-being among students
• Assist with classroom activities such as lesson planning, curriculum development, and literacy or math instruction
• Provide childcare support during school hours, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children

Skills

• Experience working with children in early childhood
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques
• Familiarity with special education practices, IEP implementation, and behavior management strategies
• Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and students effectively
• Proficiency in teaching methods related to literacy education, math instruction, and curriculum development
• Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or require specialized support such as deaf education or Toddler care
