About Our Unit This unit is located at Thomas Jefferson University Campus in Philadelphia, PA. Awards & Recognition Jefferson University Hospital is Magnet Recognized . Jefferson is also recognized as the 2nd Best Hospital in the Philadelphia Metro area and the 3rd Best Hospital in Pennsylvania Schedule Commitment Schedules are available 6 weeks in advance. The work schedule commitment for this position requires the following:

• Must be able to work rotating shifts (day & night)
• Must be able to work three (3) twelve (12) hour shifts on a weekly basis
• Must be able to work every third(3rd) weekend
• Holiday commitment consists of 1 holiday per season

Responsibilities Reporting to the Nurse Manager, Unit Secretary will perform various clerical responsibilities on nursing units including:

• Provides support to the nurse manager with reports, data, and special assignments.
• Transcribes physician orders for medications, diets, treatments, etc.
• Coordinate errands as directed/necessary for the department
• Prepare, comply, and maintain patient records

Qualifications To qualify as Unit Secretary, you must meet the following requirements for consideration:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Six (6) months of clerical experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
