Experienced Field Technician / Programmer - Smart Homes
Luxury Residential Smart Homes
$28–$42 per hour based on experience + $100 per overnight travel night
This is an hourly, non-exempt role.
Install, program, and commission integrated smart home systems in luxury private residences. Lighting. Shading. AV. Networking. Control.
This is for technicians who can see the whole system, not just pull wire.

What You’ll Do
- Program and commission Lutron lighting and shading systems
- Configure and support Savant and integrated AV control systems
- Build racks, terminate wiring, and deliver clean, serviceable installs
- Test, optimize, and finalize complete home systems
- Troubleshoot complex system interactions on-site and remotely
- Work inside finished luxury homes where precision matters
- 2+ years programming and installing residential AV systems in private homes
- Solid experience with Lutron HomeWorks systems required
- Experience with Savant preferred
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals
- Ability to think holistically across lighting, AV, and control platforms
- Clean wiring and rack-building skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb ladders
- Valid driver’s license
Travel is an essential function of this role
- Projects in Philadelphia and NYC are common
- Overnight stays may be required
- Longer-distance travel may occur, including destinations such as Miami or the Bahamas.
- All business travel beyond a normal commute is fully covered
- 100 per night overnight bonus when applicable
