SALARY RANGE: $75,000 to $85,000/annual

Position Summary:
The Director for the Department of Restorative Dentistry, under the direction of the Department Chair, will be responsible for administrative managing of the largest department at the dental school that is responsible for didactic, preclinical, and clinical programs and grades for 580 students plus residents. The Director will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative operations of the department and resolving varied problems of students and faculty under minimal supervision and within established policies and procedures. Primary responsibilities will be to support both didactic, preclinical, and clinical restorative dentistry (RD) courses including preparing and managing Canvas sites; formatting and assembling syllabi; inputting, posting, and proctoring exams; preparing, managing, and adjusting all clinical, pre-clinical, and didactic schedules for approximately about 100 full and part time faculty members. In addition, the Director will be responsible for working with the coordinators in other departments to order implant components, tag and store the implant components and keep track of the inventory, and to provide students with support necessary for patient care; ordering and maintaining equipment and supplies for all clinics, labs and non-clinical operations; managing the collection of all course data for restorative courses and implementation of electronic systems to share student progress prior to grade submission; maintaining records of departmental competency exams; assisting with faculty evaluations, appointments, reappointments, interviews etc.; managing Canvas sites for active courses, and importing data for faculty calibration; and managing Department Chair's calendar and independently scheduled appointments. Other responsibilities will include maintaining attendance of all full and part time faculty; preparing memorandums outlining and explaining administrative procedures and policies; providing Examsoft support for department courses; arranging programs, events, or conferences including arranging for facilities, catering, issuing information or invitations, coordinating speakers, controlling event budgets etc. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience:
*Proficient in Examsoft and Canvas or comparable systems with the ability to learn.
*Previous experience within a dental or higher education environment.

*Ability to work with University information systems (Banner, TU Market, Canvas, Examsoft, Concur, Goggle, etc.).

Essential duties:
*Support both didactic, preclinical, and clinical restorative dentistry (RD) courses. Preparing and managing Canvas sites, formatting and assembling syllabi, inputting, posting, and proctoring exams, order materials for preclinical courses, coordinate preclinical faculty schedules.
*Prepare and manage schedules for approximately 100 full and part-time faculty to staff pre-doctoral and AEGD clinics, facilitate redistribution of faculty to other clinics on a needed basis when there is a shortage of faculty.
*Manage faculty coverage of RD pre-clinical laboratories
*Work with the coordinator(s) in other departments to order implant components through the implant grants to provide predoctoral students with the restorative parts necessary for patient care
*Maintain inventory of implant component for pre-doctoral clinics
*Maintain digitized implant inventory, tracking and transferring process.
*Order supplies for Sobel lab
*Manage collection of clinical course data for junior and senior restorative courses and implementation of electronic system to share student progress prior to grade submission. Maintain grade spreadsheets for both clinical courses.
*Maintain record of departmental competency exams by checking for student eligibility to challenge formative and summative competencies, and
*Coordinate interview agendas for full time faculty searches.
*Schedule interviews with part-time faculty candidates for adjunct positions.
*Maintain attendance of all full and part time faculty.
*Prepare memorandums outlining and explaining administrative procedures and policies to supervisory workers, and monitors compliance.
*Assist with faculty evaluations, appointments, reappointment, interviews etc.
*Provide Examsoft support for department courses.
*Manage Canvas sites for active courses, import data for faculty calibration etc.
*Design spreadsheets as for greater efficiency of departmental operations.
*Arranges programs, events, or conferences by arranging for facilities and caterer, issuing information or invitations, coordinating speakers, and controlling event budget.
*Manages Department Chair's calendar and independently schedules appointments.
*Resolves varied problems under minimal supervision and within established policies and procedures.
*Assist in preparing and editing accreditation documents.
