Senior treatment design engineer
KEY Environmental Inc. is an established and innovative environmental consulting firm specializing in the investigation, remediation, and redevelopment of environmentally-challenged properties across the U.S. We have an immediate opportunity for a hybrid, full-time, ambitious Engineer in our Pittsburgh, PA office. Candidates must have a B.S. in engineering, chemistry, or other related field and at least 10 years of work experience, with a focus on site remediation, groundwater treatment, and process engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Managing design projects involving groundwater treatment process, piping and instrumentation diagram, hydraulic analysis, and detailed design for treatment facilities, including equipment selection and layout;
- Provide technical assistance for the operations, optimization, and troubleshooting of existing groundwater treatment facilities;
- Coordination of PFAS investigation and treatment, and be familiar with PFAS regulations;
- Coordinating with State and Federal agencies, and the preparation of permit applications;
- Project/Task Management of design projects involving hydraulic analysis for the oil and gas industry, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and potable water systems;
- Provide technical oversight, reporting, and occasional management of contractors for quality assurance;
- Project planning and reporting activities; and,
- Take an active role in business development activities.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience as a process engineer and a team manager and will have the following qualifications:
- Minimum B.S. degree (chemical engineering, civil, environmental, or related field) with 10+ years of professional experience related to site remediation, groundwater remediation and treatment, and process engineering;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and teamwork spirit;
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills;
- Experience conducting work under CERCLA, RCRA, and state regulatory programs;
- Experience with PFAS remediation technologies and regulations;
- OSHA 40-hour training preferred, and;
- Valid driver’s license.
