Delaware Valley Residential Care is currently seeking a Cook to prepare the food, maintain the cooking environment clean and safe for all staff members and assist with any culinary tasks as they arise.

Shift: Monday-Friday, every other weekend; 10:30am-6:30pm

Responsibilities:

• Ensure meals are nutritionally balanced, well-planned, and prepared and served in a manner that meets established governmental health and safety codes
• Ensure special meals/diets should be prepared and served according to written orders of the responsible health authority
• Maintain all applicable health/sanitation codes and standards
• Store all food per applicable standards to ensure sanitation, freshness and quality
• Carefully supervise food temperature and the temperature from cooling rooms, to ensure ingredients are kept at the appropriate temperature
• Maintain knowledge of applicable sanitation and health codes

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED, required
• 2-5 years experience in foodservice environment, preferred
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferred
• ServeSafe Certification, required
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and promote a positive environment for both team members and participants
• Knowledge of applicable sanitation and health codes
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Proven track record of timeliness and accountability
