Data Visualization Specialist (Qlik, Tableau, SQL, semantic data access mechanisms)

Job Responsibilities:

• Work on complex, major, or highly visible tasks and projects as part of a team, sometimes as a project lead.
• Participate in project planning processes, identify tasks, and assist with project timeline estimations.
• Drive the development of business analytics requirements with other team members and business stakeholders.
• Utilize deep expertise in data visualization tools and techniques to translate business analytics needs into visualizations and semantic data access requirements.
• Collaborate with data engineers to facilitate technical design of data sourcing, transformation, and aggregation.
• Leverage enterprise-standard tools and platforms for data visualization.
• Perform knowledge transfer around data visualizations to business stakeholders.
• Help drive the adoption of insights-driven decision-making and business process innovation.
• Develop, implement, and ensure adherence to data visualization standards.
• Lead and provide technical direction in testing business analytics solutions.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to team members.
• Create reports and presentations for senior management as needed.
• Evaluate new visualization tools and research best practices.
• Participate in Proof-of-Concept (POC) projects and recommend business analytics solutions.
• Conceptualize, design, and develop data visualization solutions for key business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analytics teams, and subject matter experts to identify relevant insights.
• Demonstrate strong visual design and creativity in developing data visualization work.
• Work closely with business users, vendors, and delivery teams to understand business requirements for analytics and reporting solutions.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Programming/Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5-10 years of experience in business analytics and data visualization, with a focus on effective visualization and gathering business requirements.
• 5-10 years of experience with tools such as Tableau, Qlik, and SQL.
• Experience in driving analytics-enabled business process innovation.
• Strong understanding of business information systems and data visualization best practices.
• Experience leading small project teams and working with diverse business areas.
