Personal Care Activity Assistant (Life Enrichment)

We’re currently seeking dedicated Activity Assistants for Luther Acres, the Luthercare community in Lititz, PA. We are hiring for a PT, 3P-8P (however can be flexible with hours needed in the evening), 56 hours biweekly, position, EOW/EOH.

WHAT YOU DO:

As an Activity Assistant at Luther Acres, you’re an integral part of ensuring our Personal Care residents enjoy enriching and engaging activities and programs. You’ll do this by performing a variety of duties, including, but not limited to:

1. Getting to know each resident and his or her preferences to plan, organize, schedule, and implement one-on-one visits/activities and group activities to provide for a structured therapeutic environment
2. Communicating resident progress with staff members, as well as documenting and maintaining accurate records of resident progress, attendance, participation, and hydration, while adhering to organizational and governmental regulations
3. Assisting with basic care needs of residents, including, but not limited to, serving meals, transporting residents, and general housekeeping/organization of activity areas.

Luther Acres – located in the charming, historic town of Lititz – is a Continuing Care Retirement Community with a long history of providing excellent care and services. It is part of Luthercare, which is a not-for-profit, faith-based, and mission-driven organization. Luthercare provides a network of services through its full continuum of care with three communities in Lancaster County. Luther Acres is its largest community, with nearly 600 residents living across its independent living cottages and apartments, personal care apartments, and skilled nursing healthcare center.

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Able to perform the functions required to push a wheelchair and transport residents.

Preferred Job-Related Experience/Abilities/Education:

1. Two (2) years of experience planning/organizing activity programs
