The ideal candidate should possess a strong financial background with at least 5 years’ experience in a variety of accounting tasks. An associate degree in accounting or higher is required and bank Industry accounting skills are a bonus.

Aptitudes should include the use of Excel, Adobe Acrobat Tools, multiple software programs and websites, and paperless processes.

Abilities such as accuracy, consistency, attention to detail, problem solving & mathematical skills, multi-tasking, following instructions and organizational skills are considered necessary. Capability to re-prioritize as needed and adapt to change is essential. A desire to learn the detailed mechanisms of the sub ledger systems and the flow of audit trails is required.

The model applicant will be joining a high achieving department that adheres to all applicable guidance, policies & procedures.

Potential for advancement within the department available.

Journal Entry preparation & posting, reconciliation completion, preparation of accounting & subledger reports, processing of accounts payable, correspondent bank account management, financial report preparation and analysis, call report preparation, monitoring of investment activity, assisting in audit requests, and providing support to the Comptroller. We are seeking an individual with a solid history of experience in these types of tasks.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate Degree in Accounting.

Ability to operate a computer & standard office equipment proficiently.

Good communication skills & ability to work well with others.

Successful completion of in-house training program or other approved programs

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

OTHER SKILLS:

The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The ability to be adaptable and flexible to adjust for temporary increases in workloads and changes in the work environment, including the ability to re-prioritize.
