Summary

Vincentian Home Schenley Gardens, a senior community in Pittsburgh’s Oakland, located conveniently on Bigelow Blvd. near the Bus Line, is in need of a Culinary Cook to join our caring team. The Culinary Cook is responsible for food preparation in accordance with chef-designed menus and recipes.

What You’ll Do at Vincentian

Working with our talented culinary team, you’ll promote and support a person-centered care environment that ensures the treatment of all with kindness, respect and dignity. You’ll prepare regular and special-diet foods according to approved recipes, following the approved food production schedule. You’ll also assis

t in the preparation and service of foods for special functions and events.

In adhering to all facility and departmental procedures, you’ll maintain a safe working environment, the care and use of supplies, equipment, and work areas, and clean and sanitize main cooking and preparation areas, food storage, refrigeration and freezers, hot food cabinets and other areas as appropriate.

About You

Our Culinary Cook must meet the following requirements:

• High School graduate or equivalent required
• Minimum of one year of health care/institutional cooking experience required.
• Thorough knowledge of quantity food preparation, sanitation standards and procedures, and portion control required.
