- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients to enhance their overall well-being.
- Monitor and record vital signs as directed by nursing staff.
- Help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to hygiene and safety protocols.
- Assist with feeding and hydration needs of patients as required.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in areas such as Hospital Medicine, Emergency Medicine, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and other specialized departments.
- Educate patients and their families on care plans and health management strategies.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills relevant to patient care.
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic patient care practices is beneficial.
- Familiarity with inpatient care processes in both emergency medicine and outpatient settings is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as teaching hospitals or trauma centers.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.
