Operations Manager (Mechanicsburg)
Dizario Search is partnered with a leading chemical-based manufacturer and they are seeking an Operations Manager to join their team. This role integrates operations leadership, engineering oversight, plant safety, materials management, and team leadership, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement. We are seeking an experienced operations leader to build, develop, and lead a team through the startup of a pilot plant, while also overseeing and maintaining existing and future R&D spaces.
Operations Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of pilot plant operations, including safety, maintenance, materials management, and production scheduling.
- Lead and develop a team of 15+ employees, including supervisors and technical staff
- Ensure equipment, processes, and materials are prepared and optimized for research, testing, and product development activities
- Drive Lean initiatives to improve operational efficiency, workflow, and continuous improvement across the facility
- Manage the overall facility, including laboratory spaces, equipment, compliance, and day-to-day operational performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Engineering, and Executive Leadership
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, or related field preferred
- Experience in startup, greenfield, or chemical-based manufacturing operations
- Proven track record in capital equipment project execution and at least 5 years of experience in an operational leadership role
- Lean and continuous improvement expertise
- Skilled at implementing structure and processes in developing environments
