Staff Accountant
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant in Philadelphia, PA. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintain the general ledger, including tracking restricted and unrestricted funds
- Support grant and donor accounting, including tracking expenses against grant budgets and restrictions
- Prepare schedules and reports for internal management, funders, and auditors
- Assist with preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
- Support annual audit activities and provide documentation as requested
- Assist with compliance reporting, including Form 990 preparation support
- Process or review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll entries as needed
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in process improvements to strengthen financial controls and reporting efficiency
- 4+ years of experience
- Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
