Senior Wood Fabrication Shop Supervisor

reSAWN Timber co. is hiring a Senior Wood Fabrication Shop Supervisor to steer production and fine craft in a fast-paced, collaborative shop. If you’re mechanically inclined, detail-obsessed, and energized by both independence and teamwork, this role is your next step.

Role Focus

• Drive production of custom stairs, architectural millwork, and trim packages.
• Own machine operations: jointing, planing, shaping, ripping, resawing, chopping.
• Execute precise power-tool work: drilling, routing, driving, biscuit/domino cutting.
• Apply hand-tool craftsmanship: planing, chiseling, fastening, glue-ups.
• Perform finishing: grain popping, filling, sanding, and final inspection.
• Maintain and tune machinery (jointer, planer, table saw, shaper, bandsaw, wide belt) and cutting tools (replace bits/blades; hone cutters and irons).
• Spot issues early and complete minor repairs or adjustments to keep work moving.

Shop Leadership

• Champion a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.
• Manage lumber inventory and tallies as assigned; assist with project scheduling and documentation.
• Coordinate workflow with internal teams and participate in weekly meetings with woodshop, estimation, and technical teams.
• Collaborate with the lead woodworker to uphold best practices and shop standards.
• Provide informal oversight and coaching to junior team members and model strong communication.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in woodworking (production, fine woodworking, cabinetry, or millwork preferred)
• Hands-on proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and shop machinery
• Mechanical aptitude to fix, calibrate, and tune equipment confidently
• Competence in shop math and reading shop drawings
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; keeps a tidy, efficient workspace
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; thrives on collaboration
• Comfort with Google Workspace and related technology
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
