Job Title: Special Education Paraprofessional at New Story Schools IDS
Location: Wellsville, PA, 17365 Join New Story Schools In-District Services (IDS) as we partner with local school districts to enhance special education by providing BCBAs, Teachers, RBTs, Paraprofessionals and other professionals for their classrooms. Our mission is to empower educators and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students with diverse needs. Serving students aged 5-22 across multiple locations in Ohio and Pennsylvania, we work alongside families and schools to create a safe, supportive environment that fosters academic and social success. - Make an Impact - Help students with special needs build life skills, confidence, and independence in a supportive school environment.
- Assist with the implementation of the students Individualized Education (IEP).
- Implement appropriate behavior management strategies and techniques.
- Observe/Record data related to behavioral concerns to assess/monitor the progress of the student.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to support clients' behavioral and developmental needs.
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your expertise in behavior management and techniques.
- Assist students within the classroom/program setting during participation in special subjects such as Physical Education, Vocational programs, and Field trips.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Genuine passion for working with children, demonstrating patience and compassion.
- An associate's degree or higher or completed at least two years of postsecondary study; or successful completion of a state or locally developed assessment.
- Experience working with children with special needs or autism through volunteer work, employment, or other relevant experiences.
