PRO Pediatric Services is seeking exceptional Paraprofessionals to provide services within a local intermediate unit.
Job Details:
- Location: Towanda, PA
- Schedule: Full-time, M-F, during normal school hours. 7.5 hours per day beginning around 7:30am-8am
- Caseload: Elementary
- Requirements: High school diploma is required. Experience working with children with behavioral challenges and assisting with daily living skills is highly preferred. Previous experience working as a Paraprofessional is highly preferred.
- Additional Details: Paraprofessionals will work with students 1:1 or support all students in a classroom. Paraprofessionals will provide services during the school calendar year and will follow the school calendar for days off, holidays, etc. Summers are off; ESY may be available but is not guaranteed.

Job Description:
A Paraprofessional's functions are to increase the quality of education by assisting students with instructional and non-instructional activities. Paraprofessionals are not responsible for the design, direction or evaluation of the teaching/learning process. Because the Paraprofessional is assisting students, regular attendance is required to fulfill the duties of this position. A Paraprofessional may be used in any instructional situation under the direct, immediate supervision of a certified professional to perform those tasks specified in the job description. The role of the assistant varies according to the program assignment. Usually, duties will vary from program to program.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with self-sufficiency training and maintenance of skills for children with physical disabilities
- Assume duties of a personal care nature which will allow the children to participate to the maximum extent in the least restrictive environment
- Encourage, support, and educate the students by assisting in the performance of activities of daily living necessary for his/her comfort, well-being, and integrity
- Assist students in managing and maintaining his/her environment to meet his/her special physical and psychological needs
- Monitor the incidence and prevalence of selected health problems
- Monitor psycho-social adjustment to medical conditions
- Assist teacher or students to arrange the environment of the classroom to best meet the students' needs
- Attend training sessions, in-services, workshops, and/or meetings, as requested
- Demonstrate cooperation and flexibility in performing other related duties as assigned by school administration
- Understand and adhere to all IU / school district policies and procedures
What You Bring:
- High school diploma is required. An Associate’s degree or higher is highly preferred
- A minimum of one year of recent experience working as a Paraprofessional with children in a school setting is highly preferred
- Experience working with children with behavioral challenges and assisting with daily living skills is highly preferred
- Must be comfortable using a computer
- Must be able to complete clinical documentation to school district standards
- Current clearances (within 6 months)
