Senior Assistant Manager

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
In addition to the Assistant Store Manager duties and responsibilities, the Senior Assistant Store Manager serves as a direct point of contact for the District Manager and provides guidance, training, and support to the store management staff. This position will be a role model of culture through embracing, exemplifying, endorsing, and teaching CommunityAid's Core Behaviors and demonstrate knowledge of CommunityAid's Mission and operational processes to ensure a safe and positive environment for the employees and customers.
SENIOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial oversight- Lead analysis to determine gaps in monthly goals (revenue, production, etc.)and collaborate with District Manager and Assistant Store Managers to develop an action plan to meet and/or exceed goals.
- Operational oversight- Provide guidance to store management and associates in completion of all operational processes while ensuring the Core Behaviors are being prioritized and utilized to achieve goals.
- Staffing and Employee Development- Partnering with District Manager and Human Resources to analyze FTE requirements, department needs, and address gaps with appropriate action plans.
- Compliance and Regulatory Activities- Provide oversight and guidance to ensure store management and associates are complying with all federal, state, and local regulations as well as CommunityAid policies and procedures.
- Facilities and Safety- Be a champion of Physical, Mental, and Emotional Safety by creating a positive and healthy environment and leading efforts to prevent and mitigate issues.
- Supervision - Act as liaison between Store and District Manager and in some circumstances, make decisions in the District Manager's absence.
- Employee Engagement and Morale- Will prioritize investment in the Employee through check-ins, recognition, and creating opportunities for growth and development.
- Perform other duties as assigned to assist in moving forward the mission of CommunityAid in the local store and its community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial oversight- of sales activities and for meeting performance goals including budgeting, processing payroll, ensuring controls and money management procedures are in place, compliance with store banking requirements, theft and shrink reduction, and successful completion and submission of all related reports.
- Operational oversight- including: the execution of merchandising strategies; inventory processing; interfacing with the all store departments, with an emphasis on coordination, collaboration, and connecting, seasonal transition planning, and special sales, and adherence to and compliance with all existing policies and procedures.
- Staffing and Employee Development-working closely with Store Management to effectively hire, onboard, and retain employees to ensure the store is operating at optimal capacity. Invest in employee training and development, including system-wide communication, cultural alignment, team building and guidance, and employee recognition. Communicate performance expectations and best practices, provide coaching, utilize existing performance management tools to fully engage employees.
- Compliance and Regulatory Activities- Ensure compliance withall state and federal laws that apply to the company, as well as ensurinng that CommunityAid policies and procedures are clearly communicated and followed by management and employees.
- Facilities and Safety- Ensure stores are a safe environment for both employees and customers. Monitor for safety and quickly address and correct unsafe work conditions as necessary.
- Direct supervision of the Store Supervisors and Associates- including daily briefings, skills training, ongoing developmental coaching, and performance reviews.
- Analysis and planning- Routinely gather, analyze, and report store performance data, product and marketing intelligence, and other sources of feedback with the clear intention of using this information to lead the Store Operational needs in order to increase sales.
- Employee Engagement and Morale- Using a blend of communication skills and models; conduct in store gatherings, meetings and huddles; staging special events and use employee recognition to ensure associates fully understand and appreciate the work of Community Aid, and their role as contributors.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree related to business management preferred; High School diploma or equivalent required
- Three years' experience in a supervisory role within a comparable retail or service-oriented business
- Available to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis
- Can read, write and speak English with proficiency
- Experience effectively managing in a fast-paced professional work environment sensitive to handling confidential information, being organized, and prioritize work within strict time frames and deadlines
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
