SUMMARY
Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of the plant by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Your participation in the continuous improvement process is required, as you are a member of the leadership team at the facility. Activities desired in your role as a member of the leadership team are safety audits, quality, process improvement initiatives, employee training, and upgrading your employees and your own current skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promotes and adheres to company safety work rules and regulations.
- Reviews work orders to determine work priorities.
- Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
- Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
- Develops ongoing Preventative Maintenance Programs.
- Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
- Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
- Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
- Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
- Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
- Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with design engineers.
- Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
- Directs training of workers to improve work performance.
- Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
- Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget.
- Attends and participates in all annual, departmental, and job specific required training and monthly informational meetings.
- Communicates any problems or changes in department to Maintenance Manager.
- Understands and adheres to the concepts and techniques of the quality process in order to ensure a quality operation.
- Keeps area clean and orderly in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
- Helps to build and promote a strong “Teamwork” environment in each individual work group, the Factory, and the Company.
- Participates in continuous improvement process.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises assigned maintenance mechanics in the wet end maintenance area. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

SCOPE OF AUTHORITY
Hires, disciplines, and approves pay levels for employees in consultation with the Engineering Manager and Human Resources.
Authority to enforce McCain policies and procedures.
Authority to schedule and edit time for Maintenance Employees.
Authority to start and stop equipment in the factory for safety, maintenance, and repair issues.
Responsibility to monitor work areas, watch for suspicious behavior and report any concerns regarding unidentified visitors and/or unauthorized personnel.
Authority to question and take appropriate measures regarding the safety of themselves, other employees, products, and equipment.
Responsibility of maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the food processing facility, especially where any raw or finished product is produced.
Authority to report and/or eliminate hazards to the safety of the food that is produced in the facility.

Compensation Package : $65,500.00 to $87,400.00USD annually + bonus eligibility + Long Term Incentive eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
