Empower students across York County as a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired! This impactful, school-based contract position supports K-12 learners throughout several vibrant districts. You’ll travel between sites, collaborating closely with staff to provide expert instruction and support for students with visual impairments.

Starting mid-August and running through early June, this itinerant role offers you the opportunity to make a real difference while working in diverse educational environments. Your expertise will be valued as you help students thrive, adapt curriculum, and ensure equal access to education.

Qualifications:

• Valid Pennsylvania certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to develop and adapt instructional materials for visually impaired students
• Willingness to travel throughout York County to various schools in the Southern, South Eastern, and Dallastown districts

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction to students with visual impairments in both individual and group settings
• Assess student needs, develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Provide guidance and resources to district educators and staff
• Adapt curriculum, technology, and materials for accessibility
• Support students in developing independent life and academic skills
• Stay current on best practices in visual impairment education
