Mid Level / Senior Java Developer - INTL Brazil

Job Description

As a member of this squad, you'll focus on maintaining and supporting legacy search platforms that power at least five internal products. The role centers on working within a large, established codebase-resolving bugs, responding to outages, and ensuring overall system stability and reliability. While new feature development is limited, you'll occasionally handle enhancement requests as needed. This role prioritizes quality, thoughtful problem solving, and strong communication over speed. You'll collaborate closely with internal users, frequently engaging via Slack and participating in regular team discussions. Mid-level engineers will primarily focus on ticket execution, while senior engineers will dive into more complex issues and mentor others-playing a key role in keeping critical systems running smoothly and efficiently.

Skills and Requirements

• 3+ years of Java development experience (Java 17+ preferred)

• Strong experience with Spring Boot

• Proven experience supporting and maintaining large legacy systems

• Excellent communication skills; proactive, collaborative, and user focused - Exposure to search technologies (Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Apache Solr)

• Experience with Python and Airflow (orchestration)

• Experience with AWS cloud services

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized environments
