Director of Youth Ministries
Job Details
East Main Presbyterian Church seeks a passionate and spiritually-grounded individual to serve as Director of Youth Ministries. This role is responsible for leading and nurturing the spiritual growth of middle and high school students through Christ-centered programming, discipleship, and relational ministry. The director will work closely with church leadership, volunteers, and families to create a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment where youth can explore their faith, build meaningful relationships, and develop a lifelong commitment to following Jesus. Key Responsibilities- Plan and oversee weekly small groups for both middle and high school students
- Organize periodic large-group activities, and special events such as retreats, mission trips and service projects
- Recruit and support adult volunteer leaders, ensuring safe and effective ministry practices
- Collaborate with the pastoral staff and church session to align youth programming with the broader vision of the church
- Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians to support faith development at home, and work with church staff to integrate youth into the larger life of the church
- A strong personal faith and commitment to the Bible as authoritative for faith and living; and the ability to clearly articulate and defend the faith
- Preference given to candidates with formal education in theology, biblical studies, or related fields
- Youth ministry experience or related work is preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- An understanding of ECO Presbyterian polity, worship, and theology, or the willingness to learn; and alignment with the mission and values of East Main Church
This position is full-time (with an option for joint part-time), and salary is commensurate with experience.
