Equipment Specialist
- Receive all incoming equipment, including new units, used units, customer repairs, trade-ins, scrap items, and large parts.
- Review build sheets and verify each item matches the delivered unit.
- Enter and maintain accurate records in the Shop Jobs spreadsheet and associated Job Packets.
- Perform status checks on parts orders with the expediter or parts personnel.
- Track customer-owned equipment while in the shop.
- Email photos and paperwork to internal stakeholders as needed.
- Locate, clean, and prepare units for 360-degree documentation.
- Check fluids, lights, functions, attachments, and special add-ons.
- Complete detailed checklists for each unit.
- Capture 20–30 high-quality images per unit.
- Tag and stage equipment based on wear, tear, or damage determinations.
- Retrieve 360 data for sales or shop office inquiries.
- Maintain updated lists of equipment ready for rent and units down due to missing parts.
- Track stock units and their building locations.
- Move equipment between dock, yard, and buildings as required.
- Maintain knowledge of equipment history and current location.
- Review work orders to ensure all tasks have been completed and confirm job accuracy on the unit.
- Scan and submit completed job packets.
- Coordinate attachment and fork needs with parts and sales teams.
- Assist with rental damage coordination and communication with Parts and Rental Managers.
- Perform extensive detailing of equipment, including units ready for 360 imaging, customer unit
- Clean cabs, operator areas, windows, mats, and remove grease, fluids, dust, and dirt.
- Schedule units for wash bay processing or complete hand-cleaning for electric units.
- Wash bay operations and schedule equipment parts flow.
- Inspect units after washing to verify they are ready to ship or move to the next line.
- Move or tow non-running units as needed.
- Perform general dock maintenance:
- Check lift gate and garage door function
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area
- Shovel snow, apply salt, squeegee standing water
- Familiarity with various types of equipment
- Comfortable operating or moving equipment
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly with service, parts, and sales departments.
- Detail-oriented with an ability to identify wear versus damage.
- Proficiency with basic computer tools (spreadsheets, email, photo uploads).
- Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities.
- Ability to lift, move, or tow equipment as needed.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform physical tasks related to cleaning and maintenance.
