Lead Barista

Café Com Leite is a multicultural, community-centered café rooted in hospitality, excellence, and connection. We are looking for a Lead Barista who leads by example, thrives behind the bar, and supports both people and operations.

This role is ideal for someone who loves coffee, enjoys leading a diverse team, and is comfortable balancing floor leadership, systems, and creativity.

Core Responsibilities

• Act as Lead Barista during shifts: bar flow, drink quality, speed, and consistency
• Oversee daily café operations including opening/closing procedures
• Lead, train, coach, and support a multicultural team
• Create and manage staff schedules while maintaining labor goals
• Ensure excellent guest experience and handle issues with care and professionalism
• Use Toast POS for orders, reporting, menus, and basic troubleshooting
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and vendor communication
• Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and organization standards
• Communicate clearly with ownership and help implement new systems or changes

Social Media & Brand Support

• Capture authentic daily content (drinks, food, team, behind-the-scenes)
• Post and engage on Instagram (stories + occasional feed posts)
• Respond to basic DMs and comments during shifts
• Promote specials, events, and community collaborations
• Help maintain Café Com Leite’s warm, welcoming brand voice

What We’re Looking For

• Café or restaurant leadership experience
• Strong barista skills and confidence working peak rushes
• Experience with Toast POS (required or strong preference)
• Organized, dependable, and solution-oriented
• Comfortable leading a diverse team and serving a diverse community
• Clear communicator with a positive, calm leadership style
• Familiarity with Instagram and content creation (no influencer experience needed)

Schedule & Compensation

• Hourly pay + tips (based on experience)
• Flexible schedule, including weekends
