Job Title: Monitoring Consultant
Location: Harrisburg, PA Area (Must reside within 2 hours)
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Minimum 1 day per week onsite)
Position Overview
"Navitas Partners, LLC" is seeking Monitoring Consultant for an exciting job in Harrisburg, PA.
Key Responsibilities
Lead process and tooling improvements to reduce manual effort and enhance service quality through automation.
Maintain endpoint monitoring connectivity, including telemetry ingestion via agents, SNMP, WMI, and APIs.
Manage certificates and credentials across hybrid network environments.
Develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks, SOPs, workflows, and service maps in a version-controlled repository.
Document incidents and problems with observability context in ITSM platforms; conduct post-incident reviews and maintain a Known Error Database.
Collaborate with Change, Incident, and Problem Management teams to ensure standardized processes and risk assessments.
Monitor SLA performance, MTTR, and root cause analysis quality; validate corrective actions.
Implement structured communication workflows for operational updates and stakeholder notifications.
Ensure compliance with enterprise IT policies and recommend reliability and security improvements.
Utilize ServiceNow (or equivalent ITSM tools) for change management and tracking.
Provide monthly and quarterly SLA reporting and operational metrics.
Design, test, and maintain disaster recovery (DR) plans with defined RTO/RPO targets.
Stay current with emerging monitoring technologies and industry best practices.
Support Continuity of Government (CoG) obligations as required.
Adhere to ITIL-aligned service management frameworks and support process maturity initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure monitoring, automation, and observability within hybrid environments.
Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in PowerShell and at least one additional scripting language (Python, Bash, or SQL).
Hands-on experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Ansible, SQL, and KQL.
Experience implementing automation using Azure Automation and CI/CD pipelines.
Expertise with monitoring platforms such as SCOM, SquaredUp, Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, or equivalent.
Knowledge of API integration and secure authentication mechanisms.
Experience working with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
Process & Framework Knowledge
Working knowledge of ITIL 4 practices (Change, Incident, and Problem Management).
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
ITIL 4 Foundation certification or higher.
Experience with dashboarding tools such as SquaredUp or similar platforms.
Experience in disaster recovery planning and testing.
Performance tuning and capacity planning for monitoring platforms.
Familiarity with API and automation security best practices.
Understanding of hybrid cloud environments and networking fundamentals.
