Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated sanitation worker to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of our packaging and shipping areas. This role involves using a shop vac to remove flour from under equipment, wiping down machines, and cleaning residual flour from production areas and equipment/conveyors. The position requires climbing up to five flights of stairs to vacuum and blow flour dust off various levels of machinery and shakers/sifters. Additionally, responsibilities include cleaning bathrooms and the cafeteria as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including packaging and shipping areas.
• Use a shop vac and air line to remove flour dust from equipment and conveyors.
• Sweep and vacuum floors, ensuring all areas are free from debris.
• Clean bathrooms, cafeteria, and common areas as needed.
• Assist in re-palletizing bags of product if any bags are damaged.
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Work alongside the sanitation supervisor and participate in cross-training activities.

Essential Skills

• General labor experience in custodial or janitorial roles.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working at heights and using catwalks and stairs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Some sanitation experience is preferred but not necessary.
• Prior experience in sanitation roles is an advantage.

Work Environment

This position is based in a flour mill that is dusty and loud. The facility manufactures and ships flour used by various food manufacturers. Work involves using catwalks and stairs to reach different parts of the plant, which may be up to three stories high.

This is a Contract position based out of Lititz, PA.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.00/hr.
