Special Education Teacher

The Special Education Teacher will work with students who have been diagnosed with Autism and/or Intellectual Disability.

*Certification and Qualifications*:

* Pennsylvania certified in Special Education
* Current (dated within a year) FBI, PA Criminal Background, Child Abuse and Act 168 clearances

* First Aid/CPR
* Mandated Reporter
* Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis preferred
* Experience teaching individuals with challenging behaviors is preferred

*Essential Duties:* * Life Skills/Learning Support responsibilities

* Provide support to a caseload of approximately 8-12 students.
* Teacher will be responsible for providing modifications to student assignments, supplemental materials to support students with academic assignments, reducing student workload to an appropriate level based on their needs, setting a student up for success by providing daily schedules and study guides, one-on-one instructional support, collaborating with various professionals on behalf of each student to ensure academic success, and communication between the home and school environment
* Ability to write an effective Individualized Educational Program (IEP).
* Participation in and facilitation of IEP meetings

*Competencies Required:*

* Competence in assessing student progress towards IEP goals and objectives and ability to write a quality review of records and IEP based on student progress and performance

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures
* Able to work independently and effectively with other team members.

Job Type: Full-time
