This high-impact role combines day-to-day operational leadership with a strong focus on strategic vision to position the company as a BAS industry leader. The ideal candidate brings a blend of entrepreneurial spirit, technical insight, and proven leadership—capable of guiding a skilled team of programmers, installers, and project managers. While you don’t need to be a programmer, a solid understanding of BAS technologies and industry trends is essential to drive innovation and long-term success. The company is seeking a forward-thinking Operations Manager to take the reins of their rapidly growing Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Controls division. This is a high-impact, strategic leadership role designed for an individual ready to combine hands-on operational oversight with a long-term strategic vision, positioning the division as an industry leader. Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the BAS Controls team through training, performance reviews, and workforce planning.
- Oversee division operations and P&L performance, ensuring profitable operations and smart growth
- Build and maintain strong client and vendor relationships, serving as a trusted partner.
- Shape the future of the BAS division and stay ahead of the curve – track emerging technologies and trends and translate them into actionable business plans for growth opportunities and new service offerings.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability and safety, ensuring high-quality project delivery.
- Industry knowledge: Strong background in Building Automation Systems (BAS) and controls as they relate to HVAC. Broader experience across the MEP trades, including HVAC and plumbing, is a plus.
- Proven leadership: Demonstrated success managing technical teams, building culture, and developing people.
- Financial acumen: Experience with P&L accountability, budgets, forecasting, and performance metrics.
- Technical understanding: Familiarity with BAS systems, construction drawings, and project processes (hands-on programming experience a plus but not required).
- Entrepreneurial and visionary mindset: Able to anticipate where BAS and HVAC are headed, spot opportunities, and shape strategies that drive growth.
- Professional skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Bluebeam experience a plus).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, but not required.
- Other requirements: Valid PA driver’s license with acceptable MVR; ability to pass background and drug screening.
