Job Summary and Responsibilities: The main function of a logistics specialist is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. A typical logistics specialist is responsible for reviewing and distributing production, work and shipment schedules and compiling reports on inventory levels, cost, etc. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Examine documents, materials and products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy and conformation to standards and specifications.
• Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities.
• Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
• Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
• Revise production schedule, when required, due to design changes, labor or material shortages or other interruptions.
• Distribute production schedules and work orders to departments.
• Confer with establishment personnel, vendors and customers to coordinate production and shipping activities and resolve complaints or eliminate delays.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 4 to 5 years experience
• Advanced Excel required: V-lookups, Pivot Tables, Macros, etc.
• SAP experience required
• Understands the order life cycle as it relates to Warehouse, Logistics, and Supply Chain operations.
• Experienced with warehouse operations, inventory management, and carrier engagement.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze information to identify and recommend appropriate course of action.
• Apply problem-solving skills to address issues and work through others for sustainable resolution.
• Experience with materials management, master scheduling, or production planning helpful.
• Order management and customer service experience helpful.
