Lead the strategic planning and implementation of curriculum and instruction programs. Ensure that the development and delivery of curriculum and instructional programs are effective and efficient, incorporate district goals, and support student achievement. Also responsible for overseeing district-level leadership functions, instructional strategy alignment, accountability systems, and strategic planning initiatives in collaboration with all Cabinet-level staff. Qualifications: Education/Certification: Master’s degree in education administration or curriculum and instructionValid principal or superintendent certification

Experience: Three years’ experience as a classroom teacher, preferably in a core content-tested subject
Three years’ experience as a successful campus principal or assistant principal
Two years’ experience in a district leadership role, responsible for evaluating campus principals and assistant principals
Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional and Program Management Oversee the development and delivery of curriculum and instructional programs that incorporate district goals and support student achievement.
Lead the district-level decision-making process to establish and review the district’s goals and objectives and major classroom instructional programs.
Monitor and reevaluate instructional programs using applied research, input from staff, and student data to improve outcomes.
Ensure necessary time, resources, and technology are available to support education goals.
Collaborate with staff to develop and revise curriculum documents based on a systematic review.
Engage staff in evaluating and selecting instructional tools and materials.
Oversee staff development programs that support instructional programs and align with the district mission.
Participate in teacher appraisal implementation.
Oversee and appraise all Cabinet-level positions; lead Cabinet weekly meetings and manage Cabinet department budgets (Technology & Safety, Maintenance/Operations, Communications, Finance, Student Services, Athletics, Human Resources).
Oversee campus administration.
Serve as the DCSI (District Coordinator of School Improvement); ensure accurate TEA, state, and federal reporting.
Act as A–F Accountability Lead, overseeing Needs Assessments, TIPS, CIPs, DIPs, FLIPs, RDA, and other compliance documents; manage quarterly monitoring and reporting.
Oversee and appraise all campus principals; lead principal and assistant principal meetings.
Lead College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) initiatives, including House Bill 3 and outcomes bonuses.
Lead for Texas Strategic Leadership and Effective District Framework (Strategic Plan).
Lead for Texas Instructional Leadership (TIL) in collaboration with ESC 14.
Serve as TPESS Lead, overseeing training, goal-setting, walkthroughs, and development.
Serve as district PLC Lead (scheduling, agendas, DDI, coaching, monitoring, observations).
Oversee all district and campus-level data (formative and summative).
Support monthly School Board agenda preparation, provide academic updates, support monitoring of Board goals, and conduct program reviews.
Oversee assessment calendar development (formative, summative, Interim, sequencing).
Lead DEIC and support CEIC/SBDM efforts.
Oversee districtwide professional development (calendar, consultants, Lead4Ward, GWYP, mentor programs, BOY in-service, New Teacher Orientation, vendor fair, convocation, leadership retreats).
Manage instructional grant execution (LASO Cycles 1–3, Strong Foundations).
Oversee Leader in Me implementation.
Oversee Mentor Program Allotment.
Oversee ESC 14 accountability compliance (FLIPs, TIL, consultant management).
Support Tech Teach and Sustainable Residency initiatives (TCLAS).
Serve as Curriculum Lead: oversee HQIM/Bluebonnet implementation.
Oversee instructional coaches and professional development; coordinate campus-level support and walkthroughs.
Support campus staffing decisions and manage stipend schedules.
Policy, Reports, and Law Ensure compliance with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and local board policy in the curriculum and instruction area.
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.
Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Budget Develop and administer the curriculum and instruction budget based on documented program needs and ensure that operations are cost-effective and funds are managed prudently.
Personnel Management Prepare, review, and revise job descriptions in the curriculum and instruction department as needed.
Evaluate the job performance of employees to ensure effectiveness.
Select, train, evaluate, and supervise staff and make recommendations relative to assignment, retention, discipline, and dismissal.
Communication and Community Relations Ensure that established goals and expectations are communicated clearly and in a timely manner.
Maintain open communication with principals, staff, parents, and community members.
Articulate the district’s mission and instructional philosophy to the community.
Demonstrate awareness of district-community needs.
Use effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
Other Prepare and deliver presentations to the board, staff, parents, and community.
Stay current on best practices in curriculum and instruction.
Ensure compliance with all related laws and policy changes.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise, evaluate, and recommend the hiring and firing of campus principals and other assigned personnel.
Supervise Cabinet-level directors and districtwide instructional leaders.

$106,015 - $164,027 per year

401 (a) retirement contribution matching: 100% up to 5% of employee salary - vested after 5 years.
