Job Summary

Responsible for assembling Becker ball valves, including installation of the valve body, ball, stem, seals, and actuators. Duties also involve attaching end connections (flanges, threads, or compression fittings), installing packing and gaskets, and ensuring proper actuator connection (pneumatic, hydraulic, or electric). Familiarity with metal tubing connections, especially compression fittings, is essential for accurate and efficient assembly.

Job Description

• All additional job responsibilities of a Control Valve Technician I
• Locate, use, and comprehend manufacturer installation and operation manuals
• Perform inspection to identify necessary corrective action as authorized
• Perform PMI
• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot valves and other equipment per applicable codes and standards per manufacturer and/or customer requirements all new valves
• Install instrumentation/accessories as necessary
• Operate diagnostic equipment (i.e. Valscope, profiler, etc.)
• Perform calibration of measurement equipment in accordance with internal quality procedures
• Measure and record critical dimensions per manufacturer specifications
• A Becker ball valve assembly typically involves installing the valve body, ball, and stem, along with seals and actuators, to create a fully functional control valve
• The process may also include attaching end connections (flanges or threads), install packing and gaskets, and connecting to an actuator (pneumatic, hydraulic, or electric) for automated operation
• Connections: Metal tubing valves use various methods to connect to the tubing, such as threaded connections, compression fittings, or welded joints
• Compression fittings are particularly common in instrumentation and are relatively easy to install without specialized tools

Skills Required

• 6+ months related experience
• MUST HAVE CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY experience, including Becker ball valve assembly experience
• Technical Skills: Hand tools, measurement tools
• Mechanical skills

Education/Training/Certifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Additional Requirements

• Working Conditions: Shop environment
• Work Hours: Mon to Fri, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (Sat & Sun as needed)
  • Overtime and weekend work available as needed

Pay Rate/Salary

• $25.00 - $30.00/hr. depending on experience
