Position Summary:

The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for custom and standard HVAC ductwork projects. This role involves reviewing project documentation, evaluating scope requirements, calculating material and labor costs, and collaborating closely with internal teams, management, and clients to support successful project bidding and execution. The Estimator plays a critical role in ensuring proposals are complete, accurate, and aligned with company capabilities and customer expectations.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret HVAC blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
• Evaluate project specifications and develop complete scopes of work
• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for sheet metal ductwork, including materials, labor, and associated costs
• Create clear, professional project proposals and bid documentation
• Maintain accurate customer pricing, estimating records, and project documentation
• Collaborate with management, fabrication, engineering, and project teams to ensure estimates align with operational capabilities
• Communicate with clients to answer questions, clarify scope, and provide technical information
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the estimating and bidding process
• Support negotiations and revisions to proposals as needed
• Apply LEAN concepts and best practices to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency

Qualifications:

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus
• Equivalent experience may be considered

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a sheet metal or HVAC environment
• Experience in construction, HVAC, or manufacturing industries preferred

Skills & Abilities

• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and HVAC construction documents
• Excellent mathematical, analytical, and estimation skills with high attention to detail
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, HVAC systems, and ductwork components
• Proficiency with estimating software, cost analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for client and internal collaboration
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of Outlook and internet-based applications
• Understanding of LEAN concepts and continuous improvement principles

• On-site office setting

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Ability to move throughout office and shop environments as needed
• Exposure to manufacturing settings, including noise and machinery
