AI Engagement & Design Associate Director

The AI Engagement & Design is a high-impact role responsible for architecting the future of sales performance through AI, advanced analytics, and innovative digital capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of technology and human performance, designing AI-enabled tools and insights that enhance learning effectiveness and accelerate capability development across the U.S. commercial field organization. This is a senior individual‑contributor role with no direct reports . Impact is delivered through design leadership, innovation, and influence , working in close partnership with Sales Training, Coaching & Leadership Development, Field Analytics, Sales Reporting, and IT/Data teams to ensure AI capabilities are practical, compliant, and deeply integrated into enablement workflows.
Key Responsibilities
AI‑Enabled Training Enhancement
- Design and implement AI‑enabled innovations that strengthen sales training , including onboarding, continuous learning, and skills reinforcement
- Apply AI and digital learning tools to personalize training based on role, experience level, and performance signals
- Ensure AI‑enabled training reinforces core selling skills, leadership behaviors, and compliance standards
AI‑Supported Coaching & Leadership Development
- Design AI‑supported tools that improve the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of coaching
- Enable leaders to use AI for:
- Coaching preparation and focus
- Identifying skill gaps and performance patterns
- Reinforcing training through coaching conversations
- Partner closely with Coaching & Leadership Development to ensure AI tools align with established coaching frameworks
Use‑Case Design & Innovation
- Identify and prioritize high‑impact AI use cases that enhance training and coaching, such as:
- Skill diagnostics and readiness assessments
- Scenario‑based learning and simulations
- Call reflection and feedback tools
- Translate advanced analytics into simple, trainer‑ and coach‑friendly experiences
Cross‑Functional Enablement Collaboration
- Partner closely with:
- Head, Sales Training
- Coaching & Leadership Development
- Field Analytics & Ops
- Sales Reporting & Performance
- IT / Data & Digital teams
- Act as the design connector between technical teams and field enablement leaders
- Ensure AI solutions align with training curricula, coaching rhythms, and field workflows
Pilot, Test & Scale AI Capabilities
- Design and lead pilots of AI‑enabled training and coaching tools
- Gather structured feedback from trainers and field leaders to refine usability and impact
- Support scaling of effective AI capabilities through enablement and training channels
Measurement & Learning Impact
- Define success metrics for AI‑enabled training and coaching, including:
- Adoption and engagement
- Skill reinforcement and behavior change
- Contribution to performance outcomes
- Partner with analytics teams to assess results and guide iteration
Thought Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Stay current on innovations in AI, learning science, coaching technology, and digital enablement
- Introduce modern, ethical, and scalable approaches that enhance training effectiveness
- Serve as an internal subject‑matter expert on AI‑driven engagement in training and coaching environments
Scope of Role
- Senior individual contributor with enterprise‑level influence
- No people management responsibilities
- High interaction with trainers, field leaders, enablement teams, and senior stakeholders
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Advanced degree preferred (MBA, MS, Learning Science, Analytics, or related field)
Experience
- Experience: 7–10+ years in Sales Enablement, Digital Strategy, or Performance Consulting, with a proven track record of deploying AI/Machine Learning solutions in a commercial setting.
- Technical Fluency: Deep understanding of Generative AI (LLMs), prompt engineering, and how to apply data analytics to behavioral change.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience within a U.S. commercial field organization (e.g., Pharma, Biotech, or MedTech) is highly preferred, including familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards.
- Consultative Skills: Ability to navigate complex corporate environments, translating technical capabilities into business value for non-technical stakeholders.
