Sourcing Specialist I

Job Summary: A regional technology-driven organization is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to support strategic sourcing initiatives and optimize vendor performance. This role will focus on sourcing and managing expenditures across various indirect and direct categories, performing spend analysis, supporting RFX processes, and assisting in contract management. The position reports directly to the Sourcing Manager and plays a critical role in cost containment, supplier consolidation, and third-party risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead strategic sourcing activities including RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs to drive cost savings and risk reduction.
• Analyze spend data and purchasing trends to recommend supplier standardization and consolidation opportunities.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and service-level agreements with vendors and service providers.
• Provide support for contract management, including coordination with legal and operational teams to implement contractual terms.
• Collaborate with business units and departments such as Accounting, Finance, Legal, and Risk Management to ensure compliance and sourcing alignment.
• Monitor industry trends and supplier performance to inform sourcing decisions.
• Maintain supplier relationships and resolve any issues or inquiries from vendors.
• Use tools like Excel and PowerPoint to create reports and presentations summarizing sourcing activity and recommendations.
• Support various ad hoc sourcing projects as assigned by the Sourcing Manager.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

• Associate degree required; equivalent relevant work experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supplier management.
• Experience negotiating with suppliers in both indirect and direct commodity categories.

Special Requirements:

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Oracle Financial Systems and/or ServiceNow preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting and project management practices is a plus.
