Job Description:
THERAPIST/LICENSED THERAPIST
The licensed therapist will provide individual, group, and family therapies to children, adolescents or adults depending on program support population using evidence-based practices in addiction-substance use disorders, mental health diagnosis and other areas as required by program. Perform initial assessment, treatment plans, individual and group counseling, coordinate with program support staff to identify and secure additional services and resources based on client needs. Therapist provides individual and group therapy for women experiencing substance use, chronic homelessness, mental and physical health challenges using evidence based practices such as Cognitive therapy, DBT, and Seeking safety in an intimate, home-like setting. With a caseload of 5 individuals, there is a lot of opportunity for client contact and individualized care and the therapist also participates as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team to support the women with improving their physical and mental health and building habilitation skills to support them after the program in permanent housing.
Position is Tuesday-Saturday and works with a team of two other therapists.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Therapy:
- Conduct intake assessments including recommendations for treatment
- Provide individual, group and family therapies to people with mental health and substance abuse issues.
Caseload management:
- Maintain active caseload including engaging individuals in ongoing treatment.
- Maintain tracking system for treatment plans, and other required documents to meet program funder guidelines and program goals.
- Participate in clinical group meetings regarding ongoing treatment goals, progress and discharge as needed.
Administrative:
- Enter documentation into electronic medical records in accordance with agency guidelines.
- Provide supervision to non-licensed therapists, counselors and other staff as needed to support state requirements for licensing.
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human service field.
- State license is preferred (LPC, LCSW, LISW) as specified in the addendum based on program licensing/funder requirements. Must be able to obtain license within 2 years of start date.
- Familiar with standard business computer software programs and electronic Health Care Database programs.
- ACT 33/34 clearances if required by program
- FBI clearance, as needed
- All trainings required by licensure
