Job Summary

The House Attendant is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of public areas and various facilities within the hotel. This role includes deep cleaning of assigned spaces, maintaining guest areas, assisting in meeting room setups, responding to guest requests for service items, and supporting housekeeping operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness in public areas, including lobbies, hallways, and restrooms.
• Deep clean and buff floors daily in accordance with hotel standards.
• Shampoo carpets and furniture as needed.
• Ensure public restrooms are maintained and fully stocked with necessary supplies throughout the shift.
• Assist guests with luggage handling at check-in and check-out in a professional, courteous manner.
• Set up and maintain hotel lobby functions, including coffee service and concierge events.
• Assist in cleaning and setting up meeting rooms for events.
• Deliver service items to guest rooms upon request from the front desk.
• Comply with all safety and sanitation standards by hotel policies.
• Handle and log lost and found items per company guidelines.
• Follow company procedures regarding master keys and access to sensitive areas.
• Complete daily assignment checklists and submit to supervisors.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and responsibility when interacting with guests and colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education & Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in housekeeping or hospitality is preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license (for shuttle operation, if applicable) and an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Record).
• Ability to effectively communicate information and instructions.
• Strong decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate and execute tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism.

Working Conditions & Environment

The House Attendant will be exposed to various environmental conditions and physical demands. The following outlines typical expectations for this role:

Work Environment:

• Frequently works indoors with exposure to temperature changes.
• Regular exposure to noise levels that may require raised voices for communication.
• Occasionally exposed to hazardous conditions, such as moving mechanical parts, cleaning chemicals, and moving vehicles.
• Occasional exposure to atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, and poor ventilation.
• Frequent contact with infectious materials (cleaning and handling waste items).

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying of objects weighing 20-50 lbs.
• Regular use of hands for grasping, handling, and performing fine motor tasks.
• Ability to hear, speak, and perceive details clearly to communicate with guests and colleagues.
• Visual acuity for assessing cleanliness and ensuring quality standards.
