Data engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned and visionary Senior Data Engineer to lead data modernization efforts across enterprise-wide applications. This role is pivotal in transforming legacy systems into scalable, cloud-native solutions that drive innovation and efficiency for a Fortune 500 manufacturing organization.
Responsibilities:

Architect and implement modern data platforms using AWS, including Aurora RDS, PostgreSQL, and other cloud-native services.

Lead the migration of legacy data systems to modern architectures, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum performance.

Design and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support enterprise-wide analytics and reporting.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data strategies with business goals and modernization initiatives.
Ensure robust data governance, quality, and security across all systems.

Drive adoption of Power BI for enterprise reporting and dashboarding.

Mentor and guide data engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing data infrastructure.

Skills and Requirements

Minimum 7 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in enterprise-scale application modernization.

Deep expertise in AWS, especially Aurora RDS, PostgreSQL, and related services.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern ETL frameworks.

Hands-on experience with Power BI and other BI tools.

Strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and performance optimization.

Proven track record of leading large-scale data transformation projects.

Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Experience in the manufacturing sector or with industrial data systems.

Familiarity with data lake architectures, real-time data processing, and streaming technologies.

AWS certifications or equivalent credentials in cloud and data engineering.
