SUMMARY : The AutoCAD Technician supports the Engineering Department by producing accurate construction drawings and design documents for Pine Creek Structures, Pine Creek Construction, Pine Creek Siteworks, and other clients. This role required an individual to work directly under the supervision of the Engineer and will be responsible for completing the necessary drafting, revising, and maintaining drawings that comply with all applicable building codes (CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, WV), subdivision and land development ordinance, zoning ordinances, and state/federal environmental regulations.

This position plays a key role in ensuring designs are structurally sound, code-compliant, and manufacturable for production.

Key Responsibilities

· Help develop & maintain AutoCAD standards that will be necessary to create discipline-specific drawings.

· Create and/or revise detailed drawings necessary for each specific project. This would entail the incorporation of plan sheets, proper notes, and project specific details. Plans sheets that would need to be created would include:

o Building plans that includes the detailing of floor systems, wall framing, and other structural components of that building.

o Land Development plans that show the overall layout of the site, grading to be completed, and the necessary utility connections needed for that project.

· Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with all applicable building codes, municipal ordinances, and state/federal regulations.

· Work closely with the Engineer to coordinate the drafting of plan sets based on engineering concepts and calculations to meet the necessary time frames of a project.

· Plot project drawings and print other document packages needed for:

o Permit submittal

o Municipal/County Submissions

o Construction/Manufacturing

· Support design changes based on:

o Building Code, Municipal Ordinance, and State/Federal Regulation changes

o Product improvements

o Feedback for Contractors/Manufactures

· Be familiar with regulations that will affect the overall design of a project, which would include:

o State Building Codes (CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, WV)

o Municipal Ordinance (Subdivision and Land Development and Zoning)

o State/Federal Regulations (State DOT, NPDES, etc.)

· Assist with documentation needed for inspections and the closure of permits.

Regulatory & Code Knowledge

· Working knowledge of regulations, including:

o International Residential Code (IRC 2018 and 2021)

o International Building Code (IBC 2018 and 2021)

o NPDES as well Erosion and Sediment Control

o Stormwater Management

o Local and County Ordinances

· Familiarity with state and local requirements impacting project in:

o Connecticut (CT)

o Maryland (MD)

o New Jersey (NJ)

o New York (NY)

o Pennsylvania (PA)

o West Virginia (WV)

· Understanding of zoning considerations, snow load, wind load, and anchoring requirements specific to each project location

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications

· Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field (additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)

· 2+ years of Civil3D or AutoCAD experience (industry experience preferred)

· Proven experience drafting a variety of civil engineering projects

· Knowledge of drafting principles, techniques and procedures

· Ability to draft plans and drawings from engineer provided markups

· Strong understanding of construction methods that would be used for each project

· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

· High attention to detail and accuracy

· Strong professional verbal and written communication skills necessary to work with engineer, contractors, municipal personnel, and production managers

· Strong organizational and time-management skills

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in portable shed, modular, or prefab structure manufacturing

· Familiarity with structural design concepts (load paths, connections, framing)

· Exposure to multi-state code compliance environments

· Experience in being provided design concepts from engineer or client to create plan documents that shows the design intent of that project

· Experience in reviewing plans and providing design suggestions and ensure they are compliant with company standards, codes, and other regulatory requirements

· Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) as well as Adobe

Work Environment & Expectations:

· Collaborative, team-oriented role with close interaction between contractors, municipal officials, marketing, & manufacturing managers

· Occasional travel within PA, CT, MD, NJ, NY, and WV may be required to visit project sites

· Fast-paced environment

· Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer

· Operates in a professional office environment
