Irrigation Technician

We’re Hiring a Skilled Irrigation Technician!

Experience based pay.

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Irrigation Technician to join our team seasonally full-time from April-November. This is a hands-on, hourly position that requires advanced knowledge of low voltage irrigation systems. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong troubleshooting abilities and the capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation at both residential and commercial sites. This position involves diagnosing system issues, discussing repair needs with owners, implementing repairs, and ensuring optimal system performance in the field.

Examples Of Work Performed:

• Responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of complex irrigation systems.
• Responsible for the installation of timers, clocks, and controllers that operate irrigation systems.
• Responsible for making necessary repairs and adjustments to maintain all systems in proper working condition.
• Compile and submit reports and records on the condition of all systems - report any upgrades or repairs needed to office.
• Responsible for the inventory of parts, supplies, and equipment of irrigation systems.
• Conducts regular system inspections and performs troubleshooting exercises.
• Performs related work as required and as directed.

Day shift - Monday to Friday 7:30am-4:00pm (32-40hrs. Per Week)

Educational Requirements

• Considerable knowledge in the field of irrigation installation, maintenance and repairs.
• Prefer 1 year experience with irrigation.
• Knowledge of the occupational hazards of the trade and of the proper use of safety equipment and practices.

Experience Requirements

• Ability to diagnose problems with low voltage irrigation systems.
• Ability to install timers & clocks that operate irrigation systems.
• Ability to maintain records and submit reports on conditions of all irrigation systems.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and evenings, if needed (Occasional Saturday, Never Sundays)
• Ability to work as a team with other employees on installations/large property system maintenance.
• Ability to interpret irrigation plans.
• Ability to communicate with customers in a polite and professional manner.
• Ability to install valve program for irrigation systems.
• Ability to operate various pieces of maintenance equipment.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions and to complete work assignments correctly.
• Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, at times under hot and humid conditions as well as times of cold and wet conditions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other employees.
• Ability to operate a company vehicle and possess the required license.

Experience with Rainbird, Hunter, Toro, and Weathermatic (preferred)
