Accounts Payable Specialist

Company located in Dauphin Conty has a need for an Accounts Payable Clerk role, the individual will be responsible for ensuring company invoices are properly recorded, tracked, approved and paid. Success in this role will be demonstrated by accurate payments and financial transaction reporting. Long term contract role paying around $23 an hour DOE. Responsibilities

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors
• Manage the accounts payable email inboxes and respond to inquiries promptly
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to Accounts Payable, including reconciliations and accruals
• Prepare and process electronic payments and checks for signature
• Identify opportunities for discounts
• Prepare 1099’s prior to the mailing due date
• Maintain Certificates of Insurance files
• Make and track appropriate sales and use tax payments on invoices

Required Competencies:

• 5+ years of accounts payable experience in a corporate environment
• Knowledge of payables, budgeting and accounting best practices
• Experience with financial transaction reporting
• Understanding of tax obligations and reporting requirements for payables
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
• Experience with JD Edwards preferred but not required
