Water Utility/Technician II - Public Works Department
Job Summary
Join our dynamic Public Works Department as a Water Utility Laborer/Technician II, where your skills will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our community’s water infrastructure. In this energetic position, you will engage in hands-on work to ensure the efficient operation of water distribution systems.
What you’ll do
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water mains, service lines, and hydrants.
- Operate various tools and equipment, to conduct tests and troubleshoot issues.
- Monitor water quality and perform routine inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Respond promptly to service requests and emergencies related to water distribution.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on tasks.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and stay updated on industry best practices.
Basic qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License Class A with air brake endorsement or ability to obtain within 9 months of hire.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor for extended periods.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in water utility operations or a related field.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in public works.
- Certification in water distribution or treatment is a plus.
