Store Manager
Position Overview :
The Store Manager creates an exceptional in-store experience, builds lasting relationships with clients, and is driven to exceed monthly sales plans for the location. Store Managers have responsibility to ensure Stylists are well-trained, motivated, and engaged in an effort to maintain and grow a book of clients and achieve/exceed individual shares of the monthly sales plan.
Duties/Expectations as Manager include, but are not limited to:
SALES
- Understands that sales are the number one priority of all members of the Stile team.
- Develops a team of well-trained Stylists to ensure that sales plans are achieved/exceeded each month and clients receive an exceptional in-store experience 100% of the time.
- Utilizes social selling to provide the highest level of service without coming across as pushy. Ensures the social selling technique is being used by all Stile team members.
- Builds a fitting room with 3+ pieces (from different categories) for each client based on their individual style / needs. Ensures that all Stylists are building fitting rooms with 3+ pieces (from different categories) for their clients.
- Provides the client with product knowledge to enhance engagement and maximize sales.
- Conducts regular product knowledge sessions with the team to ensure clients are provided with the best selections for their body type as well as the answer to any product related questions they may have.
- Provides team support by sharing knowledge or assisting in client interactions as needed.
- Understands that it is the Store Manager’s job to jump in and maximize / “save” sales when the potential is there.
- Understands that social selling does not stop prior to the fitting room experience. Encourages the client to come out of the fitting room as they try items on to provide styling assistance / tips. Helps the client make selections by building confidence & offering honest suggestions / opinions. Ensures the team is doing the same and no client is left alone at the fitting rooms.
- Builds and cultivates effective relationships with clients.
- Develops a book of clients and contacts them with personalized messages daily using the One Shop app.
- Monitors personalized One Shop messages sent to clients by the team & ensures they are being sent every shift.
- Updates the “Scheduled Hours” column of the Sales Plan Breakdown spreadsheet in the Google Drive at the beginning of each month to generate individual shares of the sales plan for each member of the team.
- Updates Sales Plan Breakdown whiteboard at the beginning of each month & ensures the team is aware of their share of the plan.
- Pulls the sales report in Heartland daily to keep track of individual progress towards sales plans.
- Utilizes the sales report in Heartland to develop & implement individualized training for Stylists to ensure all individual plans are achieved / exceeded.
- Understands that the Store Manager has the largest portion of the sales plan each month & remains sales focused to ensure it is met or exceeded.
- Updates the “EOM: Total Individual Sales”, “EOM: Individual Hourly Sales Average”, and “8% Commission Earned” columns of the Sales Plan Breakdown spreadsheet in the Google Drive at the end of each month.
- Updates the push category whiteboards two times a week and communicates push categories with the team. Ensures push categories that fit each client's style are being sampled / added to fitting rooms.
- Commits to delivering an optimistic, high-energy, and team-oriented store atmosphere.
OPERATIONS
- Utilizes personal Productivity Spreadsheet in the Google Drive daily to keep up on daily, weekly, and monthly tasks / open issues.
- Manages and trains the team to show competence and confidence in their day-to-day duties.
- Fully understands and implements Stile by Per Lei’s policies and procedures.
- Proactively resolves client concerns in a manner consistent with Stile by Per Lei’s policies, keeping client satisfaction in mind.
- Understands that clients & sales are the number one priority, but makes time to maintain a clean, organized, and neat sales floor / fitting room(s) to ensure the store environment is presentable for clients.
- Completes the Daily Tasks List designated for every shift in the Google Drive with the team. Ensures that tasks are not being completed during retail hours, but within the scheduled 30 minutes at the beginning and end of each day. Checks that tasks have not been skipped before the team clocks out.
- Ensures bank deposits are made daily and records them in the Deposits spreadsheet in the Google Drive prior to dropping off at the bank.
- Ensures all online and over-the-phone orders are fulfilled, properly packaged, and shipped in a timely manner.
- Takes inventory of supplies weekly & submits for replenishment using the Stile Weekly Supplies Form in the Google Drive.
- Manages and communicates employee discount. Ensures that the team is not purchasing merchandise that has been on the floor less than two weeks at a discount & that all team sales are rung up by the Store Manager.
- Ensures new merchandise has been checked in & received following Stile’s guidelines in a timely manner.
- Maintains the integrity of inventory by effectively and efficiently handling all merchandise.
- Maintains the accuracy of inventory in Heartland (clothing allowance, damages, charitable donations, etc.)
- Maintains the accuracy of receipt issues and re-completes sales to keep the inventory correct when necessary.
- Facilitates bi-annual inventory of the location.
MERCHANDISING
- Integrates new inventory into current store displays, keeping the color stories consistent and racks / tables / shelves looking visually pleasing.
- Ensures push category updates are featured in merchandising at all times (mannequins, front of racks, highlighted on tables & shelves).
- Maintains weekly mannequin updates and submits each week in the Mannequins Slack Channel.
- Maintains weekly front table updates and submits each week in the Merchandising Slack Channel.
- Replenishes merchandising as needed. Ensures that folded stacks & styled racks never looked picked over by replacing stacks or mixing in additional hanging styles as needed.
- Assists in full-store merchandising flips.
SCHEDULING
- Creates monthly schedules that follow the Stile Mock Schedule in the Google Drive & maintain the budget of the store.
- Adjusts the Stile Mock Schedule to accommodate the location’s peak hours as needed.
- Maintains expected sales floor coverage in event of team no-shows or scheduling conflicts.
- Maintains a high level of punctuality at all times.
RECRUITING
- Understands that it is the Manager’s responsibility to maintain a fully staffed location.
- Schedules time to recruit new talent as needed.
- Remains in the “always hiring” mindset and never lets a full team deter from hiring or recruiting a great potential candidate.
SOCIAL MEDIA
- Films / photographs designated social media content for the Social Media Manager when scheduled on the monthly Social Calendar in the Google Drive.
IN-STORE EVENTS
- Plans and implements new events for the location.
- Utilizes personal book of clients to plan private shopping / group events.
- Collaborate with other businesses in the area to plan events & increase customer base.
- Assists in the implementation of all promotional events for the location.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of retail experience (clothing, accessories, jewelry, beauty)
- 1+ years of manager or assistant manager experience
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
- Sufficient fashion credibility to sell merchandise to customers.
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team. Must be able to take/give direction & be open to feedback.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Proficiency with technology and ability/comfort level to operate a point of sale system.
- Schedule flexibility to accommodate the hours of a retail store.
